Opening Statement:
“We did a much better job in the second half of rebounding, but we didn’t communicate well enough on the backside of our zone and let our man get away from us.
All in all, I thought we were very good in the first half, defensively. Obviously we weren’t as good in the second half. That was a new zone for us and I thought it threw them off a little bit.”
On San Diego State’s athleticism:
“I think we’ve got a good team too. We just didn’t have the same urgency on the glass in the first half that we had in the second half. We need to do that for 40 minutes. We are only getting segments of consistency. When we are consistent for 40 minutes, we will be really, really good.”
On the offensive flow in the final minutes:
“I thought we still got some good looks. Even the two that we missed out of the timeout with 15 seconds left, Chad had a good look and J.R. had a good look. It’s not because we are not getting good looks, we are just not knocking them down. Our forced shots and bad shots have diminished game-by-game, but you’ve got to be great in your execution to win on the road.”
