WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Junior Max Jones had a great opening day at the Boilermaker Invitational hosted by Purdue, winning both his singles and doubles match to lead the Lobos.
Jones earned a 7-6 (1), 7-6 (4) win over Purdue’s Paul Rose while Parkes pulled out the only other UNM singles win of the day, going three sets for the 6-4, 4-6, 6-2 victory over the Boilermakers’ Branko Kuzmanovic.
In doubles, Jones teammed with junior Kamil Pajkowski for an 8-5 win over Rose and Kurt Zaske. Junior Chris Parkes paired with sophomore Miles Bugby also claimed a win, downing Eric Hodgman and Jose Fuenmayor, 8-5.
