Since Elaine’s graduation from the University of New Mexico in 1994, she has been very active. Though the last 15 years haven’t included much golf, it’s been a journey for her.
Elaine moved back to her hometown of Corpus Christi, Texas, once she graduated and taught kindergarten for two years. In 1996 she married Brian J. Kortan (former UNM golfer) and moved back to Albuquerque. They have been living here for the last 10 years and have two beautiful boys. Cade, who turned 6 in November and Beau Christian, who turned 2 in December.
Elaine has been teaching school for 14 years and enjoys the challenge of teaching 1st graders, raising two active sons, and supporting her husband who is a professional golfer. Along the way, she found time to train and complete a half marathon, attend a book club, and remain active in her church.
“I’m thankful for the opportunity UNM provided me,” says Elaine. “Some of my fondest memories and life-long friendships began in college. For that, I’m very grateful for the time I had at UNM. GO LOBOS!”
