New Mexico vs. Charleston Southern

Albuquerque, N.M. – The Pit/Bob King Court
New Mexico Head Coach Ritchie McKay
“I thought this would be hard game, our third in four days, and we’re looking forward to going to Las Vegas. I think we did a good job, Charleston Southern is well-coached, they play hard and play for 40 minutes. I’m also happy about the brave souls (in the stands) that braved the conditions and showed up. I’m thankful. I was proud of our guys because I don’t think we paid attention to who wasn’t there, we just tried to get better tonight.”
Charleston Southern Head Coach Barclay Radebaugh
“This team is capable of defending. They’re athletic enough to defend Southern Cal and athletic enough to defend New Mexico and our effort in the first half wasn’t bad, our execution was bad. It’s things that we know to do and I know that we know to do them because we did them in the second half. That’s a very good New Mexico team with tons of offensive weapons. For us to hold them in check in the second half was good. The problem we have is that we haven’t done that yet against one of these better teams for 40 minutes.”
