San Diego, Calif. – The University of New Mexico women’s tennis team took the Flight One and Two singles draws as well as the back draw of the Flight Two singles and the Flight Two doubles today at the San Diego State Inviational.
Freshman Sandra Zmak finished off a strong weekend by taking the Flight Two singles draw after defeating Milana Yusupov 6-0, 6-2. Lucy Scott took the consolation Flight Two draw with a win in the final round against Saint Mary’s Erin Young 6-0, 6-3. The Flight One singles will be determined on Tuesday Nov. 7 in a final match between Ola Abou-Zekry and Iva Gersic.
In doubles the tandem of Gersic and Abou-Zekry took second place in the Flight One doubles round and Jennifer Ryba and Zmak won the round-robin doubles with a defeat against Pepperdine’s Dunlap and Poladian in an easy 8-1 match.
