ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Juniors Max Jones and Kamil Pajkowski earned their first berth to the ITA National Intercollegiate Indoor Tennis Championships, held Nov. 2-5 at the Racquet Club of Columbus, hosted by Ohio State University. The duo, which won the Wilson/ITA Mountain Regional, opens play against Busudev Ratnum and Eric Thomas of Brown on Thursday. The match is slated to begin at approximately 11:45 a.m. ET.
Jones and Pajkowski, ranked 50th nationally, are the first tandem to make the national tourament for New Mexico since David Kowalski and Ryan Stotland in 2004.
The championship feature a 32-player singles field and 16-team doubles field for men and women, including: champions from Wilson/ITA Regional Championships held across the country during October, the ITA National Small College champions, the winners of the Polo Ralph Lauren Men’s All-American Tennis Championships and Riviera/ITA Women’s All-American Championships presented by Fila and at-large and wild card selections made earlier this week by the ITA National Tournament Committee. Overall, more than 10,000 players from nearly 600 schools participate annually in the ITA Regional and National Intercollegiate Championships.
