COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.- New Mexico senior forward Bridgette Sanchez and sophomore goalkeeper Shannon Adragna have been named Mountain West Conference Women’s Soccer Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively.

Sanchez, a native of Rio Rancho, N.M., scored the game-winner in a 2-0 victory over San Diego State. Sanchez found the net in the 39th minute to help the Lobos win their first Mountain West Conference match of the season. Against the 16th-ranked Cougars, Sanchez added an assist to junior Terryn Granados. During the weekend, Sanchez had five shots, with a goal and an assist, totaling three points. This season, she has a team-leading 12 points with four assists and four goals.

Adragna, an Albuquerque, N.M., native, faced a total of 31 shots in two games, including 19 from the nationally-ranked Cougars, making 10 game-saving saves. Adragna finished the weekend with a 0.45 goals against average and a 1-0-1 record in conference action. She marked her fifth shutout of the year against the Aztecs as she fielded 12 shots and had four saves.
