Salt Lake City, Utah – After a long, hard fought victory in the quarterfinal round brought Nora Quintal and Mackenzie White to the semifinals, the pair was forced out of the draw today in the third day of the ITA Regional Championships held at the University of Utah’s Eccles Tennis Center.
“The quarterfinal round was a great match,” said head coach Kathy Kolankiewicz. “They played really hard against the Denver team. In the semifinal round they played really well too. It came down to BYU doing better serves to help them win the match. I’m really proud of them; this was a great tournament for the duo.”
In the quarterfinal round White and Quintal defeated Denver’s 9th seeded Julia Bauregger and Rachel Sackmaster that resulted in a 9-8 score. In the semifinal round the duo took on the No. 2 seeded tandem of Sofia Holden and Lauren Jones from BYU (8-2).
The tandem and the rest of the women’s tennis team can be seen back in action in the San Diego State Invitational starting Nov. 3 in San Diego, Calif.
