Sophomore TB Rodney Ferguson had career-highs of 162 yards on 34 carries…it was Ferguson’s first career 100-yard game and the first of the year for New Mexico…the 34 carries ties for 11th in a single game by a Lobo…Ferguson also caught an 8-yard TD pass Senior Lobo Quincy Black tied a career-high with 12 tackles. Sophomore LB Herbert Felder’s sack and forced fumble in the first half was his first career solo tackle…it was his only tackle of the game…he had two assisted tackles coming into the game Brett Madsen, Kendall Briscoe and Major Mosley all recorded their first career sacks. Sophomore DeAndre Wright’s 49-yard kick return was the longest by a Lobo since the 2001 season. RS Freshman QB Donovan Porterie went 2-3 passing for 34 yards in his first action under center…his lone previous pass completion was off an option on a trick play against New Mexico State that went for a TD. Sophomore QB Glover Quin recorded a season-high eight tackles in the game. UTEP WR Johnnie Lee Higgins Jr., came into the game with 20 catches and 252 yards and 2 TDs in the Miners’ first 2 games…he finished with 3 receptions for 18 yards UTEP’s QB Jordan Palmer completed 13 consecutive passes to start the second half…he finished 26-36 for 211 yards and one touchdown.
