LAS CRUCES, N.M. – The University of New Mexico men’s tennis team had four players travel to Las Cruces, N.M. this past weekend to compete in the NMSU Fall Invitational. Lobo sophomores Miles Bugby and Chandler Brass along with freshmen Jordan Wasden and Joe Nicolazzi made the trip but the young Lobos made an early exit from the main draw.
Bugby did manage to get a win in the round of 16 against George Carstens of Abilene Christen to advance to the quarterfinals but his run would end there as he was stopped by New Mexico State’s Roman Stoisavljevic who would go on to win the event.
The tournament gave the young players a good opportunity to test their skills against some solid college tennis players. New Mexico will next travel to Minneapolis, Minn. To compete in the University of Minnesota Invite on September, 29.
