ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The Intercollegiate Tennis Association announced it’s preseason rankings earlier today and two Lobos are nationally-ranked as the fall season prepares to get underway. UNM juniors Max Jones and Kamil Pajkowski are currently No. 50 in doubles, while Jones is ranked No. 90 in singles.

Jones and Pajkowski have continued New Mexico’s history of strong doubles teams. After a stellar freshman year the duo went on to post a 16-9 record in their second effort, earning rankings as high as No. 32 in 2005-06. The two played the number one position for Lobo head coach Alan Dils en route to an all-MWC selection.

Jones finished 2005-06 with a 22-13 record in singles playing in the top two positions for the entire spring season. His 22 wins were tied with freshman phenom Johnny Parkes for most on the team and earned him his second consecutive all-MWC selection in singles.

The Fila Collegiate Tennis Rankings are comprised of votes by tennis coaches around the United States.

UNM will kick off the fall season next week as they head down I-25 to Las Cruces, N.M. for the NMSU Invitational.
