ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — University of New Mexico women’s golf has been ranked No. 22 according to the Golf World College Coaches Preseason Poll. The Lobos rank among the nation’s top programs and joined UNLV as the only two Mountain West Conference schools honored. Duke, who won the national championship last year, takes the top honor as No. 1. Arizona State came in second, while Georgia (3), Auburn (4) and Purdue (5) round out the top-five.
UNM returns five student-athletes from last year and welcomes two newcomers. Jackie Booth enters her 10th season as the head golf coach at UNM and has set a standard of excellence. The Lobos advanced to their 14th straight NCAA Regional last season and have won 12 tournaments in the last five years.
