Complete 2006-07 Men’s Basketball Schedule
The Mountain West Conference released its 2006-07 men’s basketball schedule today and the University of New Mexico will have to keep its travel bags packed for the entire conference season. The Lobos will make eight separate road trips in the conference slate, tipping off against TCU on Jan. 3 in Fort Worth, Texas.
The Lobos will rotate home and away games until hosting TCU and San Diego State in back-to-back contests in The Pit on Feb. 17 and 20. Senior night for New Mexico will be Wednesday, Feb. 20 at The Pit against UNLV. The Lobos travel to Wyoming on March 3 for the final game of the regular season. The MWC Tournament returns to Las Vegas, Nev., for the first time since 2003 on March 6-10.
“With the quality of the MWC this season and the strength of our non-conference opponents, this is by far the toughest schedule we have faced since I’ve been at New Mexico,” stated UNM head coach Ritchie McKay. “We’ve been working hard all summer in anticipation of this tough task in front of us and we are ready to get things started.”
New Mexico will play its conference games on either Tuesdays (3), Wednesdays (5) or Saturdays (8). Specific broadcast schedule will be released in the coming weeks, with at list of Lobo games to be shown on CSTV, OLN/Versus and the mtn.
