SANTA ANA PUEBLO, N.M. — University of New Mexico women’s golfer Alexandra Phelps shot a 68 in the second round of the 63rd annual Albuquerque City Women’s Golf Championship at the Santa Ana Golf Course. Phelps takes a two-shot lead into the final day of competition. Throught the first two days of the event, Phelps has carded a 135 after shooting a 4-under 67 in the opening round.
Phelps has an opportunity to take the championship for the second time in her career. She won the title in 2004 as a freshman at UNM and finished tied for second in 2005.
The final round of the championship begins Thursday with a champion to be named following the 18-holes.
