San Diego, Calif. – The 5th seeded New Mexico Lobos fell to the 1st seeded TCU Horned Frogs, 4-1 April 28 in the semifinals of the women’s tennis MWC Championship.
The Lobos started off well earning the doubles point after winning the matches at the No. 1 and 2 doubles spots. However TCU was able to hold off the Lobos in singles action. The No. 5 ranked team of Iva Gersic and Maja Kovacek defeated TCU’s No. 16 ranked team of Helena Besovic and Ana Cetnik 9-8(6) at the No. 1 doubles spot. At the No. 2 dobules spot Lucy Scott and Ola Abou-Zekry defeated Andrea Morgardo and Anna Sydorska 8-4.
