BRYANT, Texas – The University of New Mexico men’s golf team finished tied for sixth at the Aggie Invitational in Bryant, Texas. The Lobos finished at 45-over par (305-307-297=909) on the par-72, 7,235 yard Traditions Golf Course. Texas Tech won the tournament at 4-over par, one stroke in front of Texas A&M.
Individually UNM was led by senior Jay Choi who tied for 12th at 7-over par (76-73-74=223). Other Lobo results were freshman Travis Reid tied for 33rd at 15-over par (73-77-81=231), freshman Steve Saunders tied for 39th at 16-over par (77-80-75=232), sophomore Robb Bierbaum tied for 44th at 17-over par (80-83-70=233), freshman Nick Geyer tied for 50th at 18-over par (79-77-78=234) and senior Mark Anderson, playing as an individual, tied for 33rd at 15-over par (81-73-77=231).
The individual title went to Oscar Floren of Texas Tech at 7-under par. Floren defeated Ryan Baca of Baylor by three strokes and only three players finished under par.
