The 2006 University of New Mexico football Cherry-Silver spring game, sponsored by News Radio 770 KKOB, will be held on Saturday, April 22 at University Stadium. Gates open at 12:30 p.m. with the offense versus defense scrimmage to begin shortly after. Tickets for the spring game are just $2, which includes free admission to the Lobo baseball “Pack The Park” game against Utah, starting at 2:30.

Tickets are available on the day of the scrimmage at the northwest gate of University Stadium or in advance at the UNM ticket office at The Pit. Call 925-LOBO for more information.

With a shortage of offensive linemen in spring practice this year, New Mexico head coach Rocky Long and his staff will organize the scrimmage in an offense (cherry) versus defense (silver) format. The coaches also plan to implement a point system that will track both the offensive and defensive performances on the scoreboard. Check www.golobos.com on Wednesday for a complete preview of the Cherry-Silver game.

Following the two-hour scrimmage, head coach Rich Alday’s New Mexico baseball team takes on Mountain West Conference rival Utah in the second of a three-game series at Isotopes Park. The first 500 fans through the gates will receive free Lobo baseball mini-bats. The “Pack the Park” game is sponsored by Univision Radio, the Albuquerque Baseball/Softball Academy and the Ultimate Dugout.
