The Lobos end their season at 22-10…Baylor improves to 26-6 and advances to the Albuquerque Regional this weekend…the Bears will play the winner of Tuesday’s game between Maryland and St. John’s Saturday in The Pit UNM is now 3-6 all-time in NCAA Tournament play, 1-1 in 2nd-round games The Lobos allowed their most points of the season and the highest in an NCAA Tournament game…Baylor’s 87 points are the most against UNM since a 92-47 loss at No. 3 Texas on Jan. 3, 2004…New Mexico came into the game allowing 57.4 points a game New Mexico led 27-20 in the first half after a Dionne Marsh 3-pointer…Baylor later went on a 13-0 run, and, eventually a 24-6 streak, to give them a 44-33 advantage…the Lobos trailed 44-38 at the half…UNM finished the season with a 2-9 record when trailing at halftime Baylor took a 58-46 lead before UNM stormed back to make it 65-60 following a 3-pointer by Abbie Letz…the Lobos were also down 71-64 and had the ball, but turned it over…Baylor closed the game by outscoring New Mexico 22-7 Baylor made 9 of 18 3-pointers tonight…the Bears came into the game shooting 32% from 3 on the season and just 18% (9-50) in their past 4 games New Mexico shot 52% (13-25) from the floor in the first half, but just 33% (9-27) in the 2nd, including 1 of 8 to start the period…thanks to a 40-29 rebounding edge, Baylor attempted 19 more shots than UNM, hitting 33 of 71, or 47% Sophomore Dionne Marsh had 25 points tonight, including the 5th 3-pointer of her career…only Jordan Adams has scored more for UNM in an NCAA Tournament game…Adams had 27 in an overtime win over Miami (Fla.) in 2003 Marsh scored 509 points this season, tying Jordan Adams (2000-01) for the 3rd-highest total by a Lobo…Marsh has 911 points after 63 games, No. 19 all-time at UNM Junior Julie Briody came off the bench to score 19 points on 4-6 FGs, 3-4 3s and 8-8 FTs…her 8 FTs made and 100% accuracy is a Lobo record in an NCAA Tournament game Briody finished the year by making 77 of 86 FTs, or 89.5%…that’s the 2nd-best single-season accuracy in school history The Lobos’ season FT% of 74.7% (493-660) is a team record Katie Montgomery was 1 of 4 from 3-point to finish the season 75 of 157, or 47.8%…it’s the best single-season 3-point percentage in school history…the 75 3s rank No. 2 on the UNM single-season list…Abby Garchek made 82 in 1997-98 Montgomery has shot 44.7% from 3-point in her career (148-331)…that’s easily the best accuracy in the Lobo record book Seniors Jana Francis, Abbie Letz and Judy Vogt complete their Lobo careers with a 95-32 record, 3 MWC Tournament titles and 4 straight trips to the NCAA Tournament Letz finished 14th all-time at New Mexico with 592 rebounds…her 232 boards in 2005-06 ranks No. 7 on the single-season list
