HUMBLE, Texas – The University of New Mexico men’s golf team remains 12th after the second round at the Hall of Fame Invitational in Humble, Texas. The Lobos shot a 21-over par 309 for the second consecutive day and is now 42-over par on the par-72, 7,352 yard Redstone Golf Club. The overall team lead belongs to the Oklahoma State at 10-over par and leads Texas and East Tennessee State by seven strokes.
UNM was led in the second round by senior Jay Choi who moved 26 spots from a tie for 39th to a tie for 13. Choi shot an even par 72 in the second round is 5-over par (77-72) for the tournament. Other Lobo results are freshman Steve Saunders is tied for 34th at 10-over par (74-80), sophomore Robb Bierbaum is tied for 49th at 12-over par (79-77), senior Mark Anderson is tied for 69th at 15-over par (79-80) and junior Charlie Beljan is tied for 83 at 17-over par (80-81).
The individual lead belongs to Anthony Kim of Oklahoma at 8-under par and leads Jhonatton Vegas of Texas and Jonathan Moore of Oklahoma State by eight strokes.
The final round of the Hall of Fame Invitational will be played tomorrow at the Redstone Golf Club with 18-holes of play. Full results and live scoring can be found at www.golfstat.com
