HUMBLE, Texas – The University of New Mexico men’s golf team is currently tied for 12th at the Hall of Fame Invitational in Humble, Texas. The Lobos shot a 21-over par 309 on the par-72, 7,352 yard Redstone Golf Club. The overall team lead belongs to the University of Texas at 5-over and is one stroke in front of Oklahoma State.

UNM was led in the first round by freshman Steve Saunders who is tied for 13th. Saunders shot a 2-over par, 74 in the opening round. Other Lobo opening round scores are senior Jay Choi is tied for 35 at 5-over par, senior Mark Anderson and sophomore Robb Bierbaum is tied for 49th at 7-over par and junior Charlie Beljan is tied for 67th at 8-over par.

The individual lead belongs to Anthony Kim of Oklahoma at 5-under par and leads Jhonatton Vegas of Texas by four strokes.

The second round of the Hall of Fame Invitational will be played tomorrow at the Redstone Golf Club with 18-holes of play.
