LAS VEGAS, Nev. – The University of New Mexico men’s golf team moved up four spots to 10th place at the Southern Highlands Collegiate in Las Vegas, Nev. The Lobos shot a second round 294 on the 7,510 yard, par-72 Southern Highlands Golf Club and is now 34-over par (316-294=610) for the tournament. Georgia and host UNLV share the lead at 13-over par.
UNM was led in the second round by junior Charlie Beljan, who shot a 3-under par 69 in the second round. Beljan is tied for 13th at 5-over par. Other Lobo results were sophomore Robb Bierbaum is tied for 21st at 6-over par (77-73=150), freshman Steve Saunders is tied for 56th at 11-over par (81-74=155), freshman Travis Reid is tied for 58th at 12-over par (78-81=156) and senior Jay Choi is tied for 74th at 18-over par (81-81=162).
The individual lead belongs to Chris Kirk of Georgia at 4-underpar and leads Daniel Im of UCLA by two strokes
