The University of New Mexico men’s tennis team fell tonight 6-1 to No. 49 Colorado at the UNM Tennis Complex. The loss moves the Lobos record to 5-4 and marks the end of the month long home stand.

Freshman Johnny Parkes and Miles Bugby got the Lobos off to a fast start with a commanding win at No. 2 doubles 8-2 over Peter Bjork and Chad Tsuda of CU. The other two teams failed to keep the momentum however as Colorado took the first point of the match. No.32 ranked Max Jones and Kamil Pajkowski never could find their rhythm and were defeated for the first time this year at No. 1 doubles 9-8 (8-6) by Eric Molnar and Mark Bundalo.

In singles action only Pajkowski managed a win a solid 6-2, 6-4 victory over Colorado’s Jan Zelezny at No. 4. All the other 5 positions were won by CU to give them the comfortable win.

The Lobos will return to the court in Hawaii on March 13th, 14th, and 16th when they face off against Hawaii, Purdue and Navy. The next home match will be against Northern Arizona on March, 25 at the UNM Tennis Complex.
