Postgame Quotes at BYU

Head Coach Ritchie McKay:

Opening Statement:

“Our guys played well. We had a chance. We couldn’t get a break down the stretch. BYU is a good team and there is a reason why they are on the bubble for the NCAA Tournament. I am not discouraged by our team’s play. We are going to be a tough out in Denver.”

On coming back after being down in the second half:

“We’ve done that for most of our games. There has not been a team this year that has pulled away from us. We will come back. It is their character. We’ve got resiliency in our program and I expect that.”

Senior Mark Walters

Opening Statement:

“I thought we played hard. Late in the game, the last five minutes, things didn’t go our way. The ball could have come off the rim a different way and changed the game. We had the ball in our hands a couple of times and just lost it.”

On the crowd of over 20,000:

“We play in front of crowds like that all of the time. It wasn’t at all intimidating to us. When it got loud at the end, it was just like being at home.”
