SCHOFIELD BARRACKS, HAWAII – The Lobo men’s golf team sits in a tie for seventh after 36-holes at the John Burns Intercollegiate. New Mexico shot a second round 276 to move to 21-under par (279-276=555) on the par-72, 6, 917 yard Leilehua Golf Course in Schofield Barracks, Hawaii. The overall lead belongs to both BYU and Auburn who are tied at 29-under par.

Freshman Steve Saunders is leading UNM at 8-under par (69-67=136) after a second round 67, and is tied for 10th. Senior Jay Choi is also in the top-20 tied for 18th at 6-under par (69-69=138). Other Lobo results are junior Charlie Beljan is tied for 26th at 5-under par (71-68-139), senior Mark Anderson is tied for 48th at 2-under par (70-72=144), freshman Travis Reid is tied for 69th at even par and freshman Nick Geyer, playing as an individual is tied for 31st at 4-under par (72-68=140).

The individual lead belongs to Jay Moseley of Auburn at 12-under par and leads two other players by two strokes.

The final round of the John Burns Intercollegiate will be played tomorrow with a shotgun start beginning at 10:30 a.m. (MST).
