FORT COLLINS, Colo. (AP) – Mark Walters scored 21 points as New Mexico rallied from 11 points down to beat Colorado State 80-78 Wednesday night.
Colorado State (12-11, 1-9 Mountain West Conference) led 34-29 at halftime and extended that lead to 11 early in the second half.
But New Mexico (14-9, 5-5), which made just 1-of-6 3-pointers in the first half, hit 8-of-16 3-pointers in the second to take a five point lead with 3:09 remaining. The Lobos also scored 23 points off turnovers to Colorado State’s 11.
Colorado State closed in to within two points with 11 seconds left.
David Chiotti added 14 points for New Mexico, while senior Kris Collins scored 13.
Freddy Robinson and Michael Harrison scored 15 points each for Colorado State, while added Cory Lewis 13 points.
