New Mexico snapped a two-game losing streak and improvedto 11-2 at home this season…both losses at The Pit havecome against No. 12 Oklahoma…UNM has won six straight athome overall, but 32 in a row at The Pit against MountainWest Conference foes…the last loss was to UNLV on Jan. 6,2002. The Lobos have won 7 of their last 8 against the Rams andnotched their biggest margin of victory in the series (34points) since an 85-50 home win on Feb. 4, 1978…ColoradoState still leads the overall series 27-25, though UNM hasa 15-10 advantage in Albuquerque. New Mexico finished with a season-high .509 FG percentageon 28-55 shooting…it’s the Lobos first game over 50% sinceMarch 9 of last year when the team hit 58.5% (31-53)against San Diego State in the first round of the MWCTournament…UNM’s previous best this season was a 48.6%effort against Marist on Nov. 25. UNM held a 41-28 (+13) advantage in rebounding and havenow outrebounded 15 of their 23 opponents this season. After turning the ball over 17 times at BYU, the Loboshave committed just 8 in their last two games at Utah andtonight vs. Colorado State…CSU had 16 turnovers…the Loboshave forced their opponent into double digit miscues inevery game this year. Sophomore forward Dionne Marsh led all scorers with 21points…it was her 8th game over 20 points this year…she isaveraging 21.7 points over her past 3 games…senior guardJudy Vogt matched her UNM career-high with 11 points offthe bench…Vogt also had 11 against Morgan State lastyear…junior Julie Briody had 13 points off the bench, herhighest output since scoring 16 against North Dakota Stateon Dec. 10…sophomore Brandi Kimble’s 13 points were herhighest in 9 games since scoring 16 vs. Utah on Jan. 5…all12 UNM players in uniform got into the game and scored.
