The No.64 ranked University of New Mexico Men’s Tennis team bounced back today to defeat the No.69 ranked Montana St. Bobcats. The victory evens the Lobos season record at 1-1.

UNM sophomores Max Jones and Kamil Pajkowski moved to 2-0 on the season with a win at No.1 doubles 9-8 over the Bobcats Mareck Gebicki and Kyle McDonald. Graeme Kassautzki and Eric Conklin also won there No.3 doubles match 9-7 to give the Lobos the first point of the match.

UNM took four of the six singles matches. Johnny Parkes won his No.2 singles match 4-6, 7-5, 6-3 while Kassautzki handled Montana State’s Tejeshwara Chigateri 6-2,6-2 at No.3 singles.

The Lobo Freshman were an impressive 3-0 in singles competition today something UNM will hope can continue throughout the 2006 season.

The Lobo’s will hit the court again next week to take on Sacramento State, Boise State, and Illinois State at the UNM Tennis Complex Feb. 2-5.
