EVANSTON, Ill. – New Mexico women’s tennis played three doubles matches against both Florida State and Northwestern today, January 20, 2006 at the Northwestern Invite in Evanston, Ill.
The Lobos dominated against Florida State winning two out of three of their doubles matches. Maja Kovacek teamed with Ola Abou-Zekry to defeat Florida’s Suzanna Mansour and Nicole Slater 8-3, while the tandem of Iva Gersic and Lucy Scott defeated Ania Rynarzewska and Whitney Eber, 8-4.
UNM’s No. 3 duo of Iva Gersic and Maja Kovacek came back together against Northwestern’s Christelle Grier and Georgia Rose defeating the duo 9-7.
