Head Coach Ritchie McKay
Regarding Kellen Walter and Ryan Kersten career highs:
“I’m not sure last year how many points per game we won by but it seems like a lot more, these games are making me older. I was very impressed with our group, what can you say about walk-ons. Kellen Walter was great. (Malik) Hairston, when he was going in the second half, Blake Harden did a great job on him. Malik (Hairston) didn’t get one more two-eyed look, which we try to prevent in our defense. I was happy with our play. I thought (Ryan) Kersten did a great job, (David) Chiotti and (Mark) Walters were their usual steady selves. I think we got contributions from everyone. Oregon is a dangerous, dangerous team. They can really, really score the basketball. I think they will win a lot of games in the Pac-10. So this was a great win for us.”

Regarding Team Effort:
“I think that is how we do it. We really try to promote team unity. Playing together, I think this group is a product of maybe two and three and four years of emphasizing that. We have a good team, we have little margin for error, but we seem to get a contribution from a lot of different guys.”

Oregon Head Coach Ernie Kent
Regarding the first half
“Unfortunately the team didn’t come out ready to play. I’m very, very disappointed with where we are at right now because that was just a poor effort in terms of being ready to play. You talk and you prep and you walk through and then when you get on the floor and not have any more energy than that to get up and down to score. I thought we did well defensively but offensively we just didn’t run hard, cut hard or execute hard. And then we came out in the second half and played a much better half but the pep talks are over, this team needs to make up its mind what it wants to do this year with the talent that it has because we can play a lot better basketball. And it comes again in the area of playing hard all the time.”

Regarding Adam Zahn’s play
“He had a great game, it was probably his best basketball game as a Duck. He did some nice things, scored, defended.
They (Lobos) did a great job in the second half.

Regarding the second half of play
They played great basketball, it was the first half that killed us. Thirteen unforced turnovers. This was not a pressure defense team. Everything we did was caused by us, traveling, carrying the ball twice, traveling again, throwing it a way, bad passing. The 13 unforced turnovers led to 21 points for them and that was the difference in the basketball game.”
