ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The University of New Mexico men’s golf team will travel to the invitation only Hooters Collegiate Match Play Championship on Nov. 11-13, at the Mission Inn Golf and Tennis Resort El Campeon Course. Head coach Glen Millican will travel with seniors Jay Choi and Mark Anderson, junior Charlie Beljan, sophomore Robb Bierbaum and freshman Nick Geyer. The Lobos are the 11th seed in the 16-team field and will face the sixth seed Arizona State in the opening round.
THE COURSE: The Hooters Collegiate Match Play Championship will be played at the 6,974 yard, par-72 Mission Inn Golf and Tennis Resort El Campeon Course at Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla.
RESULTS: The results can be found on the University of New Mexico website at www.golobos.com. or on the golfstat website at www.golfstat.com where live scoring will be available.
HOOTERS MATCH PLAY FIELD: The Hooters Match Play will be made up of some of the top teams in the country the last two years. Invitation to the match play was based on 2005 national championship finish. A list of the entire field followed by their seed: Georgia (1), Georgia Southern (16), Tennessee (8), Georgia State (9), Duke (4), Arizona (13), Wake Forest (5), Augusta State (12), Georgia Tech (3), Missouri (14), Arizona State (6), New Mexico (11), Kentucky (7), Coastal Carolina (10), Oklahoma State (2) and Stanford (15).
