– The University of New Mexico women’s basketball team is ranked No. 25 in the latest Associated Press Poll released on Monday afternoon. It is the third time in school history that the Lobos have cracked the AP Top 25. UNM was 25th on Dec. 27, 2004, 23rd on Jan. 3, 2005, and finished the 2002-03 season ranked No. 22 in the USA Today/ESPN Coaches Poll.
“There is a lot of season left and I would rather be ranked in the top-25 at the end of the season rather than now,” Head Coach Don Flanagan said. “The early ranking though shows a lot of respect for our program and the schedule we are playing.”
New Mexico returns to action on Friday, November 25, against Marist at The Pit. Tip-off is set for 8:00 P.M. on Friday. Complete rankings below:
