SAN DIEGO, Calif. – In their fourth competition this season, the Lobos were defeated 189-111 by the Aztecs of San Diego State University. Senior Robyn Miller was the top swimmer for the Lobos, with two first place finishes, one in the 200-yard butterfly (2:08.91) and the other in the 500-yard freestyle (5:04.28).

The top diver for the Lobos was sophomore Carrie Quinn who, now for the third time this season, swept the first place spots on both the 1-meter springboard (244.57) and the 3-meter springboard (226.50). Sophomore Tiffany Blackstone came in second place on the 3-meter springboard (207.75) and took third on the 1-meter springboard (203.09).

Other top swimmers for the Lobos included sophomore Tori Clarridge, who placed second in the 100-yard backstroke (1:00.05) and also in the 200-yard medley relay along with teammates sophomore Rachel Evans and juniors Jenna Syverson and Jen Hale (1:51.60). Syverson also had a second place finish in the 50-yard freestyle (25.15) and junior Kelly Soldow came in third (25.38). Sophomore Ashley LaBree took second in the 200-yard individual medley (2:14.19) and third in the 200-yard back (2:12.99). Another third place finish included freshman Katrina McLoughlin in the 100-yard fly (1:00.54). UNM had the second and third place finishes in the 400-yard free relay. Freshman Blakely Stephens, Clarrdige, Soldow and Miller made up the team coming in second (3:36.10). The third place team included seniors Kelsey Leckovic and Cassidy Lespreance along with Hale and Syverson (3:41.06).

After a short one day rest, the Lobos, now 0-4 in the MWC, will resume competition in Los Angeles, Calif. for the Speedo Cup Invitational. UC Irvine will host the three day competition where 22 teams from around the county will be competing. The 18-event competition will be all day starting Thursday, Nov. 17 continuing through Saturday, Nov. 19.
