Quotes from University of New Mexico head coach Ritchie McKay:

(on Jeffrey Henfield)“We are excited about the addition of Jeffrey Henfield. He is a tremendous talent and brings with him a wealth of ability. Not only can he score from the perimeter, but he is a great slasher and has very good ball-handling skills. He is also strong, like the guards we have had success with in the past, and very athletic. We think he has a chance to step in right away and help our team.”

(on Roman Martinez)“Roman is what most would describe as a `sleeper.’ He is another one of those guys we have had success with who really understands the game. He is one that I would consider position-less. You put him on the floor and he makes great passes and hits big shots. We saw him play a ton this summer and we felt like he was a player who could help our team.”

(on Derek Oestreicher)“Derek is an excellent individual. He is young but will have a great future ahead of him. We think his hands and his footwork are his strongest attributes, and as he continues to add quickness and strength to his game he will only get better. He is going to make an impact in our league.”
