University of New Mexico sophomore linebacker Cody Kase was named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District 6 team the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) organization announced this morning. Kase, a General Management major, has compiled a 4.06 cumulative grade point average in his two years at UNM.
The native of Valencia, Calif. has started all nine games and recorded 50 tackles this fall. He is second on the team with 7.5 tackles for loss, including 2.5 sacks, and has made at least one stop in the backfield in four straight games.
Kase is now eligible for a spot on the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America team, which will be released on Dec. 1.
