SAN DIEGO, Calif. – The University of New Mexico women’s tennis team finished day two and their fall season after being pushed out of the draws at the San Diego State Classic November 5, 2005.
In singles action Mackenzie White was forced to withdraw due to illness. She was to play in the semifinal round against Christy Striplin from Georgia Tech in the black singles draw. Ola Abou Zekry had to be replaced in the Classic after suffering from a sprained ankle.
The doubles team of Nora Quintal and Maria Sotirchos lost a close match to Aleysa Vidov and Esther Cadua from SDSU, 8-6 in the semifinal round of the black doubles draw. They had a quick victory against Lisa Nystrom and Alina Mihailescu, 8-0 from Florida State to advance to the semifinals.
