The University of New Mexico women’s basketball team will open the exhibiton portion of their season on Friday, November 4, against Fort Lewis College at The Pit with tip-off set for 7:00 p.m. The Lobos were picked second in the MWC coming off a 26-5 season, while the Skyhawks were 15-13 last season.

SCOUTING THE LOBOS:The Lobos are coming off the best season in school history as they were 26-5 in 2004-05. UNM won their second consecutive regular season MWC title and third straight MWC Tournament championship. New Mexico returns three starter and 10 letterwinners from 2004-05.

SCOUTING THE SKYHAWKS:Fort Lewis is coming off a 15-13 2004-05 season, where they finished second in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference West Division. The Skyhawks return three starters and five letterwinners from last years team.

THE COACHES:UNM is led by head coach Don Flanagan who enters his 11th season at New Mexico. Flanagan is 217-94 at UNM. The Skyhawks are led by Mark Kellogg who is in his first season at Fort Lewis.

THE SERIES:This will be the third meeting between the Lobos and Skyhawks with UNM holding a 2-0 advantage over Fort Lewis. The last meeting was December 17, 1995, when New Mexico won 82-32 at The Pit.
