TULSA, Okla. – No. 97th-ranked sophomore Max Jones’ run in the Polo Ralph Lauren ITA All-American Championships came to an end today. After winning three straight matches in the Qualifying Draw, Jones came up just short in the Round of 64 in the Main Draw, falling 6-2, 3-6, 6-4 to No. 70 Andrew Hamar of Wake Forest.
Fighting to stay alive in the consolation bracket, Jones faced 21st-ranked Bojan Szumanski of Texas Tech in the Round of 32. Szumanski took the match 6-3, 6-3.
Jones’ next competition will be at the ITA Mountain Region VII Championships in Las Vegas, Nev., Oct. 19-23.
