Berkeley, Calif. – The University of New Mexico women’s tennis team moved into the semifinals in singles and final round in doubles at the Cal Berkeley Nike Invite to be played Sunday, October 2 at the Hellman Complex.
No. 30 Maja Kovacek is now in the semifinals for singles after defeating Arizona State’s Kady Pooler, 7-5, 6-2.
The No. 3 doubles team of Iva Gersic and Kovacek will compete for first after defeating Arizona State’s Rebecca Rankin and Sabrina Capannolo, 8-2. They will face North Carolina’s Jenna Long and Sara Anundsen Sunday morning.
The final day of the Cal Berkeley Nike Invite will play Sunday at 9 a.m. All final rounds will be played starting with doubles followed by singles.
