BEND, Ore. – The University of New Mexico men’s golf team finished tied for eighth at the tough 15-team PING NCAA Championship Preview. New Mexico shot a 6-over par, 294 in the third round on the par-72, 7,671 yard Crosswater Golf Course at Sunriver Resort and finished at 13-over par (296-287-294=877). The team championship went to defending national champion Georgia at 19-under par (284-284-277=845), 15-strokes in front of second.

Individually UNM was led by senior Jay Choi who shot a final round 1-under par, 71. Choi finished tied for ninth at 3-under par (73-69-71=213). Other Lobo results are sophomore Robb Bierbaum tied for 22nd at 3-over par (74-71-74=219), junior Charlie Beljan tied for 25th at 4-over par (71-75-74=220), senior Mark Anderson tied for 50th at 10-over par (79-72-75=226) and freshman Nick Geyer tied for 62nd at 13-over par (78-75-76=229).

Brian Harman of Georgia and Pablo Martin of Oklahoma State both finished 11-under par to share the individual championship.
