Lobos Move Up One Spot to Tie for Sixth at PING NCAA Championship Preview

BEND, Ore. – The Lobo men’s golf team is currently tied for sixth place at the tough 15-team PING NCAA Championship Preview. New Mexico shot a 1-under par, 287 in the second round on the par-72, 7,671 yard Crosswater Golf Course at Sunriver Resort and is now 7-over par (296-287=583) after two rounds. The current overall team lead belongs to defending national champion Georgia at 8-under par (284-284=568) and leads by 10-strokes.

Individually UNM was led by senior Jay Choi who carded a 3-under par 69 in the second round. Choi is tied for 10th at 2-under par (73-69=142). Other Lobo results are sophomore Robb Bierbaum is tied for 18th at 1-over par (74-71=145), junior Charlie Beljan is tied for 20th at 2-over par (71-75=146), senior Mark Anderson is tied for 40th at 7-over par and freshman Nick Geyer is tied for 57th at 9-over par.

The individual lead belongs to Brian Harman of Georgia at 8-under par. Harman leads Pablo Martin of Oklahoma State and Webb Simpson of Wake Forest by one-stroke.
