Albuquerque, NM, September 22, 2005 – In a display of support for the hometown team, Eye Associates of New Mexico has made a substantial in-kind donation to the University of New Mexico (UNM) Athletics Program. The UNM Lobos, in turn, have designated Eye Associates of New Mexico as the “Official Eye Care Providers to Lobo Athletics.”
Eye Associates will care for the vision of student athletes by providing all necessary eye care to UNM Athletics. Additionally, Eye Associates doctors can respond to emergency eye care needs of the student athletes. Rudy Davalos, Athletic Director for the University of New Mexico, said, “We’re grateful to have this kind of access to Eye Associates’ physicians, and we’re pleased that they have taken such an interest in the needs of our student athletes.”
From football games to track meets, Eye Associates of New Mexico will be an active sponsor throughout the entire school year. Vince Townsend, the Executive Vice President of Eye Associates, said, “Many of our physicians and staff members are avid Lobo fans, and we are pleased to take an active part in the successful UNM Athletics Program.” Besides regular running advertisements, Eye Associates encourages their patients to get out and show their support for the Lobos by attending UNM athletic events throughout the year.
