BEND, Ore. – The University of New Mexico men’s golf teams is currently tied for seventh at the prestigious NCAA Championship Preview. The Lobos shot an 8-over par 296 in the first round on the par-72, 7,671 yard Crosswater Golf Course at Sunriver Resort. The current overall team lead belongs to defending national champion Georgia at 4-under par and leads by six strokes.

Individually UNM was led by junior Charlie Beljan. Beljan carded a 1-under par, 71 and is tied for seventh. Other Lobo results were senior Jay Choi is tied for 16th at 1-over par (73), sophomore Robb Bierbaum is tied for 27th at 2-over par (74), freshman Nick Geyer is 6-over par (78) tied for 56th and senior Mark Anderson is tied for 61st at 7-over par (79).

The individual lead is shared by Andy Winings of Kentucky, Seung-su Han of UNLV and Brian Harman of UNLV at 3-under par.
