2005 Preseason Practice Schedule

The annual Lobo Football fan photo day, marking the end of preseason practice, will be held on Saturday, Aug. 20 at University Stadium. Gates open at 5 p.m. and head coach Rocky Long will lead his team through its final full pads scrimmage of the summer from 6-8 p.m. Players will be available for an autograph session immediately following the scrimmage. Admission is free.

The first 3,000 fans can enjoy free Wienerschnitzel Lobo Dogs and Dairy Queen root beer floats along with first pick of the best remaining season ticket seats. The yearly event is sponsored by 770 KKOB, Dairy Queen, Pepsi and Wienerschnitzel. Call 925-5014 for more information.

New Mexico returns 41 lettermen and 17 starters from last year’s 7-5 squad that made its third consecutive bowl game appearance. The Lobos open the 2005 season against Mountain West Conference rival UNLV on Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 5. Kickoff from University Stadium is set for 11 a.m. (MST) and the game will be nationally televised live on ESPN2.
