The University of New Mexico department of athletics and head coach Rocky Long will host the 12th annual UNM Women’s Football Clinic on Wednesday, Aug. 3. Doors open at 5 p.m. on the north side of the L.F. “Tow” Diehm building, which is located at the south end zone of University Stadium. Sponsored by Tucanos Brazilian Grill and Magic 99.5, the clinic is exclusively for female Lobo fans of all ages. All who attend the clinic will have an opportunity to experience and learn more about the game of football directly from the 2005 UNM coaching staff and players.
In addition to gaining extensive knowledge about this year’s team, there will be an on-field clinic, giveaways and a raffle. The clinic is being provided for women of all knowledge levels eager to learn more about football. Food will be provided by Tucanos Brazilian Grill and there will be plenty of FREE beer, wine, soda and water on hand as well.
The cost for the clinic is only $20 and all proceeds benefit the “Send-A-Kid” program, which allows underprivileged youth throughout the State of New Mexico to attend Lobo Football games.
Last fall, a record attendance of over 400 women attended the clinic.
