Lobos Fall to Seventh After Two Rounds at National Invitational Tournament

TUCSON, Ariz. – The University of New Mexico men’s golf team struggled in the second round as they fell from third to seventh at the 13-team National Invitational Tournament. The Lobos shot a 2-under par 286 on the par-72, 7,094 yard OMNI National Golf Course and are 10-under par for the tournament. The second round lead still belongs to TCU at 17-under par.

Individually the Lobos are led by senior Madalitso Muthiya at 4-under par with back-to-back rounds of 70 and is tied for ninth. Sophomore Charlie Beljan shot the low UNM score of the second round with a 69 and is tied for 24th at 2-under par (73-69). Other Lobo results are senior Jay Reynolds is tied for 15th at 3-under (69-72), junior Jay Choi is tied for 41st at 1-over par (70-75) and junior Spencer Levin is tied for 45th at 2-over par.

J.J. Killeen of TCU continues to lead at 9-under par and is one stroke ahead of a group of four golfers.
