The Universiy of New Mexico women’s basketball team will play their final home game of the season on Saturday afternoon against UNLV. Seniors Mandi Moore, Lindsey Arndt and Jenny Shetters will also be playing in their final home game of their careers on Saturday. The Lobos are 20-4 on the season and 9-2 in the MWC, while the Lady Rebels are 15-10 overall and 6-5 in the MWC. Tip-off is set for 2:00 P.M. Saturday at The Pit and can be seen live on CSTV and locally on KWBQ 19 or heard on KNML 610 AM.
TONIGHT’S GAMETonight’s game features the Lobos of the University of New Mexico hosting the Lady Rebels of UNLV in a Mountain West Conference matchup.
SCOUTING NEW MEXICO:The Lobos enter tonight’s game with a 20-4 record and 9-2 in the MWC with losses to No. 7 Texas (75-56), No.11 Minnesota (75-35), UNLV (63-60) and BYU (55-46) and wins over New Mexico State (57-44) and Oklahoma State (60-56), Missouri (67-58), Gonzaga (76-54), Bowling Green (73-43), San Diego (58-50), No. 23 Arizona State (61-45), New Mexico State (56-27), San Francisco (63-52), Morgan State (101-22), Utah Valley State (69-29), Air Force (72-58), BYU (64-51), Utah (61-55), San Diego St. (72-53), Wyoming (62-49), Colorado State (75-49), Air Force (77-69), Utah (70-63) and San Diego State (78-58). New Mexico’s leading scorer on the season is freshman Dionne Marsh at 11.4 ppg., followed by senior Lindsey Arndt at 10.2 ppg. Arndt also leads the Lobos in rebounding at 6.1 rpg. and senior Mandi Moore leads UNM in assists at 5.2 apg.
SCOUTING UNLV:The Rebels enter the contest with a 15-10 record and are 6-5 in the MWC, with wins over South Carolina 66-63, Texas-Arlington 79-57, Detroit 82-49, Northern Arizona 61-49, Nevada 66-60, Central Connecticut State 92-52, Canisius 92-66, High Point 82-51, Northern Colorado 88-68, New Mexico 63-60, Air Force 76-51, San Diego State 77-54, Colorado State 71-58, Wyoming 70-66 and Air Force 70-63 and losses to Minnesota 77-69, Central Florida 60-58, North Carolina 84-76, Michigan 61-49, Iowa State 86-78, San Diego State 76-60, Wyoming 46-43, Colorado State 69-66, Utah 63-55 and BYU 74-48. UNLV is led in scoring by Sheena Moore at 15.2 ppg. RanDee Henry leads the Lady Rebels in rebounding at 8.5 rpg, while Moore leads the team in assists at 3.8 apg.
