The Collegiate Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) announced today that University of New Mexico men’s basketball senior Troy DeVries has earned Academic All-District VI honors. DeVries, who has started every game this season for the 18-6 Lobos, has a 3.52 g.p.a. and is majoring in University Studies.
This is the second CoSIDA Academic All-District honor for DeVries, who also won the award last season. He was also a Mountain West Conference Scholar Athlete during his junior year.
DeVries is currently second on the team in scoring, averaging 11.3 ppg. DeVries is one of the top 3-pt. shooters in the country, ranking 11th in the NCAA with his 46.3% accuracy from behind the arc. He leads the MWC with 2.88 3-pt. FG’s per game and his career 45.5% from 3-pt. range is the highest in UNM history.
