The University of New Mexico women’s basketball team returns home on Thursday to play the University of Wyoming. The Lobos are 15-3 on the season and 4-1 in MWC play, while the Cowgirls are 12-6 overall and 3-2 in the conference. Tip-off is set for 7:00 P.M. Thursday night at The Pit and can be heard live on KNML 610 AM.

TONIGHT’S GAME:Tonight’s game features the Lobos of the University of New Mexico hosting the Cowgirls of University of Wyoming in a Mountain West Conference matchup.

SCOUTING NEW MEXICO:The Lobos enter tonight’s game with a 15-3 record and 4-1 in the MWC with losses to No. 7 Texas (75-56), No.11 Minnesota (75-35) and UNLV (63-60) and wins at New Mexico State (57-44) and Oklahoma State (60-56) and home wins over Missouri (67-58), Gonzaga (76-54), Bowling Green (73-43), San Diego (58-50), No. 23 Arizona State (61-45), New Mexico State (56-27), San Francisco (63-52), Morgan State (101-22), Utah Valley State (69-29), Air Force (72-58), BYU (64-51), Utah (61-55) and San Diego St. (72-53). New Mexico’s leading scorer on the season is senior Lindsey Arndt at 10.2 ppg, followed by freshman Dionne Marsh at 10.0 ppg. Arndt also leads the Lobos in rebounding at 6.4 rpg. and senior Mandi Moore leads UNM in assists at 5.5 apg.

SCOUTING WYOMING:The Cowgirls enter the contest with a 12-6 record and are 3-2 in the MWC, with wins over Colorado-Colorado Springs 61-43, Denver 55-54, Northern Iowa 65-45, Colorado 72-67, Texas-Pan American 76-51, Ohio 89-43, Northern Colorado 64-39, Idaho State 65-54, Sacramento State 58-36, BYU 74-63, UNLV 46-43, San Diego State 69-43 and losses to Kansas State 85-42, Weber State 71-58, Boise State 55-44, Montana 48-45, Utah 67-49, Colorado State 61-51. UW is led in scoring by Ashley Elliott at 16.9 ppg. Erin Hicks leads the Cowgirls in rebounding at 7.1 rpg. and Elliott leads the team in assists at 4.2 apg.
