The Rocky Mountain Intercollegiate Ski Association named its Skiers of the Week and the list included a pair of Lobos. Junior Trine Lundamo won the women’s Nordic award while sophomore Lars Loeseth took home the men’s Alpine honor. UNM powered its way to a second place finish at the Alaska-Anchorage Invite at Jackson, Wyo., last weekend.
Loeseth, a native of Oslo, Norway, placed fourth in the men’s slalom race. Leading UNM to a second place finish in the team standings. Lundamo skied to a third place showing in the women’s 5K Classic race and a second place time in the women’s 10K freestyle. The Lobo women won the freestyle event, while placing second in the Classic race. Both skiers were All-Americans during the 2004 season.
UNM will next head to Winter Park, Colo., for the Denver Invite on January 28-29. The DU races will be the third event of the season for UNM.
