The University of New Mexico women’s basketball team will closeout the nonconference portion of their schedule Thursday night against Utah Valley State. The Lobos bring a 10-2 record to the contest, while the Wolverines are 2-14. Tip-off is set for 7:00 p.m. at The Pit and can be heard live on KNML 610 AM.

TONIGHT’S GAME:Tonight’s game features the Lobos of the University of New Mexico hosting the Wolverines of Utah Valley State College in the final non-conference matchup of the season.

SCOUTING THE LOBOS:The Lobos enter tonight’s game with a 10-2 record with losses to No. 7 Texas (75-56) and No.11 Minnesota (75-35) and wins at New Mexico State (57-44) and Oklahoma State (60-56) and home wins over Missouri (67-58), Gonzaga (76-54), Bowling Green (73-43), San Diego (58-50), No. 23 Arizona State (61-45), New Mexico State (56-27), San Francisco (63-52) and Morgan State (101-22). New Mexico’s leading scorer on the season is senior Lindsey Arndt at 9.5 ppg. with freshman Dionne Marsh following at 8.8 ppg. Arndt also leads the Lobos in rebounding at 5.8 rpg. and senior Mandi Moore leads UNM in assists at 6.1 apg.

SCOUTING UTAH VALLEY STATE:The Wolverines enter tonight’s contest with a 2-14 record with wins over Jacksonville State 67-43 and Montana State 37-26 and losses to Idaho 62-59, Gonzaga 87-41, Utah State 75-59, Alaska Fairbanks 69-56, Montana State 74-65, Utah 88-66, Southern Utah 78-69 and 72-70, Boise State 90-63, Portland State 75-66, Portland 74-58, Idaho State 86-46, Weber State 78-47 and Eastern Washington 60-52. Utah Valley State is led in scoring by Miriam Palkki at 11.6 ppg. Katie Wilson leads the team in rebounding at 5.3 rpg, while Courtney Lynn leads them in assists at 3.6 apg.
